Sending a HUGE thank you out to Nathan Yant and his son, Sutter, and Temple Cummins and his son, Canon, for their incredible construction of a new bridge!
Temple wrote the following brief description of their work and submitted these great photos
“Nathan and I were able to float two new logs into place using the summer high water in the lagoon. The new location of the bridge has a smaller span than the older location, enabling us to use 40’ logs to reach across. Once we got the logs on concrete blocks we also added adjustable pier blocks near the center of the span.
We purchased rough cut cedar from the Sequim Bay Area.
Once delivered we cut down the boards to the four foot lengths, then used E-bikes to get them to the bridge site.
The cedar pieces varied in width and shapes with live edges on half the pieces, enabling us to scribe them together in spots.
Ramps on both ends were added with the salvaged old bridge 2×6’s and a few driftwood pieces.”
